Rachel Barge
Rachel is a nationally recognized sustainability advocate and social entrepreneur. Currently, she is a Partner and head of communications at Greenstart, a seed-stage investor and design firm for digital cleantech startups. At Greenstart, Rachel is charged with telling the stories of the entrepreneurs who are transforming the multi-trillion dollar energy market with disruptive technologies. Rachel launched her first startup at the age of 22, a national consultancy that helped universities deploy over $16M towards energy efficiency, clean energy and green revolving loan funds. She served as Director of The Business Council on Climate Change, and Executive Director of CleantechU, a philanthropic initiative supporting cleantech entrepreneurs at universities. Rachel is winner of the prestigious David Brower Youth award, Morris K. Udall Scholarship and Wild Gift Fellowship. She holds a BS in Conservation & Resource Studies and Forestry from UC Berkeley.
