Nils Gilman is the Vice President of Programs at the Berggruen Institute in Los Angeles. He most recently served three years as Chief of Staff to the Chancellor at the University of California, Berkeley, and before that in a variety of senior roles at enterprise software companies, management consulting firms, and research institutions. The author of Mandarins of the Future (2004) among many other works, he has a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in American History from UC Berkeley.
